Wordpress new re-install won't update

I had this little issue wherein I wanted a new re-install of Wordpress or migrating a wordpress database, the site won't update.

The problem exists if the site uses any caching plugins like W3 Cache or WP-Cache.

If this happens to you even you've already deleted the database, try logging in to wp-admin and try to disable the cache plugin.

And you'll see that the Wordpress will go to installation phase.

Problem solved.

How to use Touch Mobile (TM) AstigTxtAll

Touch Mobile TM's AstigTxtAll is very economical text option if your budget is really tight. For only 15 php you'll be having all 150 text all networks. Whether it's Smart, Sun Cellular, Globe, or Talk-n-Text.

The only drawback is this last for a day, however for those unused text will be carry over if you re-activate again for another day of astigtxtall before your expiration.

Cool in a way that it is accumulating, uncool is that you'll be needing a constant subscription of 15 php everyday. I wish it is always accumulated regardless of the expiration. ;)

To check your TM astigtxtall balance: astigtxtall bal 8888
To subscribe for TM astigtxtall: astigtxtall 8888

Can Google help you in all of your search inqueries?

Most people nowadays rely on Google for their search inquries, well I do too. However, for the longest time that I've been googling my way out to problems such as coding bugs, latest currency exchange, newest softwares, or even how to deal w/ my kid's tantrums.

All of my google faith is lost when a critical issue is not solved. My HP laptop didn't boot after I've dismantled because I need to apply thermal paste to the CPU and GPU. When I plug it in, the power button is lit, wireless is lit but all black screen. The CPU fan seems to respond and working properly too.

Googling for hours and hours with the keyword 'HP G60 125nr won't boot' I've arrive up to page 10 and still no joy!

The only relevant search results is telling me to hold the power button for 10-20 secounds while power cord and battery are unplugged. Then plug it back in, this will reset the capacitors to zero state they say. My next option is to reflash the bios like what I did w/ "Acer Aspire One that won't boot" too.

Out of frustration, all of sudden I thought about the 'other search engines', bing or yahoo, but it's really a long time since I used those.

I tried the very same keyword to bing, no joy.

Fortunately, the sun shines again to my desperation. Yahoo gave me the correct search, and guess what. Page 1 and first link...

It led me to HP support that is nowhere to be found if you try browsing HP website. The page advises that I should remove peripheral devices (such as HDD, wifi and CMOS batter) leaving the RAM intact only.

I plugged the laptop, and viola. HP logo at the screen.

Just want to share to you all, if Google fails. Try yahoo`ing, or bing`ing...

Acer Aspire One ZG5 won't boot up solution

A friend/neighbor had trouble booting up her Acer Aspire One ZG5 (white laptop) and asked me for help. When you press the power button, the power button just lit and no response from the screen. It's a total blackout even though the batteries are charged or you are plugged directly to the power outlet.

I found out that the problem is the BIOS software is busted, the BIOS informtion is gone that's why it's not booting at all. The solution is fairly simple. You'll be needing:

  • A USB thumbdrive

  • A computer where you can download Bios update 3309

  • Bios Update 3309 Software

  1. First download Bios update 3309 here, then extract the zip file.

  2. Copy the extracted files to the USB thumbdrive

  4. Rename 3309.fd(bios file) to ZG5IA32.FD (Precisely like that)

  5. Insert your USB thumbdrive into the usb port of the left hand side of the laptop make sure the charger is plugged in to the laptop.

  6. Hold down keys FN+ESC and press the button, when the power led begins to blink release the two buttons and press the power button just once. (Follow the timing very well as this needs some practice.)

  7. Observe the usb stick flashing indicating it's flashing the BIOS, wait for a few moments and the laptop will not boot automatically.

The source of the problem is unknown, I had her laptop re-flashed some months ago and the problem occurred again today. But I have a speculation since I asked how they handle their laptop, she told me that her daughter play with it and place it either in soft sofa or bed. Now there's no room for exhaust and no ventilation for the laptop underneath. Overheat the laptop and screw the BIOS system.

I suggest they buy at least one of those CD-King laptop coolers.
